The Olderman & Hallihan Agency was started by Samuel Olderman in 1929. At that time, it was known as The Samuel E. Olderman Agency. Richard, Samuel’s son, joined his father’s agency in1960. He worked alongside his father, learning the business from the ground up.

Richard’s childhood best friend, Tom Hallihan, was working in the insurance industry at Travelers Insurance Co. In 1970, Richard convinced Tom to leave Travelers and join him at The Olderman Agency, at which point the agency changed names to The Olderman & Hallihan Agency.

Following in their fathers’ footsteps, The Olderman & Hallihan Agency is owned and run by Howard Olderman and Sean Hallihan. Howard and Sean have a combined total of 49 years of experience in the insurance industry. They are proud members of PIA, the National Association of Professional Insurance Agents. Howard served as their president from 2010-2011 and received the PIA Agent of the Year Award in 2012.

Howard is a proud supporter of the local YMCA and spent time as an Adjunct Professor at Goodwin University in East Hartford, CT. Sean is very active in the youth sports programs in Guildford and coaches his children’s ball teams.

Howard and Sean owe the success of The Olderman & Hallihan Agency to their amazing staff. Over the years, their knowledgeable staff members have addressed the agency’s clients with professional interest in their insurance needs and have given Howard and Sean invaluable support in the growth of the agency.
